A brief background of Myanmar and my partner work
Myanmar is a part of Southeast Asia bordered with India, Bangladesh, China, Laos and Thailand. It is an ethnically diverse nation with 135 distinct ethnic groups. The major national ethnic races are
1. Kachin
2. Kayah
3. Karen
4. Chin
5. Mon
6. Rakhine
7. Shan
8. Bamar
Myanmar is natural resource rich country but due to unsustainable management, we are facing natural resource curse at present. The people are much poorer and poorer, they lost their fundamental rights since they are born. My partner organization and I have been working with different stakeholders for sustainable natural resource management issues to provide better environment and sustainable development through promoting environmental awareness, mobilizing youth and community participation through small grant providing, conducting media training for journalists and promoting citizen journalists role, engaging and advocating with relevant organizations and institutions and publishing relevant materials.
